The staff was very friendly, the breakfasts delicious and the room and view fabulous. Our room was private, clean and large. We were so pleased with the quite town of Khao Lak. The waterfalls were beautiful and worth the hike and the snorkeling was fabulous. The beach area was not crowded like some of the other Islands." |

Well maintained except for a big cockroach dwelling in the toilet. Try the blue crab papaya salad at Muai Lan Restaurant next to Baan Krating (its sister restaurant). Cheap, special & nice." |

The hotel is located close to the beach, and it is a paved walking path with steps down to the wonderfull beach. As far as we are concerned this was a perfect choice of hotel and we would love to return in the future. Thank you all at Baan Krating Hotel." |

The ambient was wonderful, the staff was attentive and very friendly. There were only a few other guests. There was some construction and gardening going on which can t be heard in the room, pool or restaurant but from the beach platform. They didn t expect guests to visit the beach due to the weather. So the place and the couches were a little bit messy. Overall I would recommend it anyway." |

It s a great place to go if you just want to read, relax and wander to the beach every now and then. Baan Krating is too far from Khao Lak town to walk comfortably, but you can walk to other resorts nearby. You can also walk to a national park. There is one restaurant you can walk to very easily (Muan Lai) which is not bad, but does not have international selections. The bungalow itself is clean, comfortable, not big but not too small, with a very nice covered balcony overlooking the Andaman Sea. It has all the amenities for a comfortable, multi-night stay. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. We had a rental car; there is not a lot of parking, so if you hire a car you may need to jockey back and forth to enter/leave the small car park. Overall, a good value for the money and recommended." |

The small hotel beach is not very attractive but the Sunset Beach is near (depending a bit on the bungalow)." |

Staff could not be more helpful and friendly. We had a bungalow overlooking the sea with a view of the beach it was ewxcellent. the blurb said something about a private beach which is not correct, in fact several other hotels front onto this glorious stretch of beach. But, this does nt detract at all from the beauty and pleasure that is to be enjoyed in this quiet and laid back resort. Our room was excellent very romantic and just the right size. like others we also found a few insects and a cockroach but this is on the very edge of the jungle and is to be expected. This is a chill out destination within a wonderful setting, and, we will definately return. We are Thailand fans and have visited lots of different places but we will come back to this one. Two things you need to be aware of. Be prepared for some serious walking up / down stairs, and the hotel prices for food and drink are well above those in the nearby town. In short definately 4 star and definately recommended." |

Although Khao Lak is remote (90km - 1 hour drive) from Phuket and the many tourist possibilities there. Swimming in the sea in July-Aug not possible.Also to reach Khaolak village is 20-30min on foot. Few taxis, no tuk-tuks. A good idea for the hotel would be to provide a number of scooters." |
